OUR FIREBREAK COURSE

MONDAY 31 MAY

Today we started with our new course...named firebreak! We packed all of our equipment on the tractor and went to the Makhato houses. We just had a look at where we are going to cut, and went back for lunch...we had to do welcoming today and there came 25 people in for the week. So we had welcoming till about 16:30.

This course was the best, I learned how to work with brush cutters, slashers, Pangaea's, saw's and even to be safe with the thorns...we all worked together and didn't have problems with people that doesn't want to work we came very far and all that I've really learned about this course is how to make the firebreaks and where we must have been brush cutting and what to do with old trees...This is a very important thing to do, because all of us learned how to make the firebreaks and where it would be the most important to make the firebreaks! At the last day of our course we was thanked by Diederick our Principal, Mel our Manager, and Ian our farm Manager we had to get food and something to drink after our hard working two weeks and it was worth it...I had a great time doing fire breaks...
